THE ART OF PUBLIC SPEAKING WITH MARIAM MOHAMMAD

        June 18,2020 saw the college welcomed an international guest,Mariam Mohammed who taught the student of the college on a topic titled "The art of public speaking".

       The lecture in summary, teaches the students about how to compose themselves during public speaking.


--The right posture and gestures during speech presentation.

--The choice of environment or venue for presentation.

---How to convince your audience.

---How to give a good presentation.


    The lecture done with the aid of text,voice notes,pictures and videos by  the guest lasted for three hours with the students learning the secret about how to compose themselves and give excellent speeches and presentations to the public.

About the Guest-Mariam Mohammed

       Mariam Mohammad is a young Palestinian refugee in Lebanon who is currently a second year undergraduate Medical Laboratory Sciences student studying in Lebanon. She is the Founder of Alam w Mahay, an initiative to erase illiteracy among street children Lebanon and introduce volunteerism among youth.

          Her determination to help her community is clearly from all the work she did with the 7 NGOs she works within Lebanon such as Red Cross, Foodblessed, LOYAC... Internationally, Mariam has worked with the World Health Organization to draft a resolution concerning mental health services in Lebanon which were sent to the Ministry of Health in Lebanon as a part of the national mental health program. And with Hult Prize Foundation -the world’s largest competition to solve the world’s toughest social challenges- She was the youngest director for two university campuses, and an intern later on. 

      Now Mariam is a YLP advisory board for UNDP-YLP, the Vice president of Lebanese Red Cross Youth Sector in her university , International speaker at different organization globally, and a mentor in several programs in Lebanon and outside Lebanon. Soon she will be launching her own startup to provide cheap, immediate, and available emergency  medical services all over Lebanon.

        Mariam has been selected for several local and International fellowship and in programs around the world, notable is the Harvard University Crossroad Emerging Leaders Program 2020, and MEPI student leaders in the United States.
