Briefing the federal lawmakers, the minister said "Children are asymptomatic carriers.Nobody can prove whether they can infect eachother. Not even the health experts.Everything we know about it is what we read. There is nothing we discovered on our own.

"In the documents provided,we suggested how we can move our education sector forward in this pandemic.

"The documents were provided to you so that you can criticize and make inputs as major stakeholders.

"As we speak,Kogi and CrossRiver are not on the same page with the National centre for disease control on this issue of testing, while all other neighboring states are conducting tests".

The vice chancellor of the sector Akon Eyakonyi, who presided over the meeting expressed fears that the academic calendar could be distorted in public schools, where no visible arrangements were being made to teach children at home unlike their counterparts in private schools.

It could be recalled that the Federal government ordered the closure of schools nationwide on March 25,2020 inother to minimize the spread of the virus.
