BREAKING:MANCITY BANNED FROM UEFA COMPETITIONS FOR 2 SEASONS.

        Manchester City have been banned from the UEFA club competitions for the next two seasons by Uefa and fined €30m (£25m) after they were found to have seriously misled European football’s governing body and broken financial fair play rules.

        UEFA handed down the punishment to the Premier League giants for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.

FG DRAGGED TO COURT OVER COVID-19 PALLIATIVES

      The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has asked the Federal high court in Abuja to compel the Federal government and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to publish the names of Nigerians who have so far benefited from COVID-19 palliatives.

XAVI PREPARING FOR BARCELONA RETURN AS COACH

         Xavi said his staff are preparing "a lot" to coach Barcelona as the Camp Nou great eyes a return.

         Al-Sadd boss Xavi was linked with the Barca vacancy earlier this year when the LaLiga champions sacked Ernesto Valverde, before they turned to Quique Setien in January.

         Barca have struggled to convince this season – the titleholders now two points behind bitter rivals Real Madrid in the race for LaLiga glory with six matches remaining.

NDOMBELE TELLS MOURINHO HE 'NEVER WANTS TO PLAY UNDER HIM AGAIN'.

      Tanguy Ndombele could be set for a Tottenham exit this summer after reportedly telling boss Jose Mourinho he never wants to play for him again.

     Ndombele has been left on the bench for both Spurs' games since the Premier League restart, and the French midfielder is said to be have been angered by Mourinho's public criticism of his performances.

FG ROLLS OUT GUIDELINES FOR REOPENING SCHOOLS.

       The Federal government has given conditions schools and  leaning institutions must meet before reopening in the country.
          The conditions are contained in a 36-page documents titled "Guidelines for schools and learning facilities reopening after COVID-19 pandemic closure",submitted to the Senate by the minister of education,Mallam Adamu Adamu.

   He noted "Given that COVID-19 maybe with us for a while,the guidelines also highlight the urgent need to maintain and improve upon distance learning programmes".

AGUERO TO TRAVEL TO BARCELONA FOR TREATMENT.

                Sergio Aguero will travel to Barcelona for further examination of a knee injury amid fears the Manchester City striker's season is over.

       Aguero hobbled off in the first half of Monday's 5-0 win over Burnley after clutching his left knee both before and after a foul by Ben Mee for which City were awarded a penalty.

CRISTIANO RONALDO BREAKS ANOTHER RECORD IN BOLOGNA WIN.

        Cristiano Ronaldo has broken yet another record in his glittering career with his goal against Bologna on Monday making him the leading Portuguese scorer in Serie A history.

        Ronaldo tucked in a penalty to give Juventus the lead in a tie that ended in a 2-0 win after Paulo Dybala scored the other goal in a spectacular fashion.

       The strike was his 43rd in the Serie A since joining the club from Real Madrid, one more than the 42 his compatriot Rui Costa managed in the eight years he spent at Fiorentina and Milan between 1994-2006.

GERARD PIQUE COULD BE BANNED FOR HIS COMMENTS AFTER SEVILLA DRAW.

Gerard Pique could be in trouble. His words at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan can be taken as a jab at the referees. “It will be difficult to win the league … it will be hard for Madrid to drop points,” is what he said after the 0-0 draw at Sevilla on Friday.


Some could take that as a dig after Madrid were lucky not to concede against Valencia after VAR ruled Rodrigo’s goal offside. They went on to win.

        The attention of the Secretariat of the Football club Owners Association of Nigeria (Club Owners) has been drawn to a social media trash in the name of a press release traceable to the Media Officer of Lobi Stars FC, one Mr Austin Tyowua who claimed to be writing on behalf of the club's management.

         "Ordinarily we would have ignored  the trash as belonging to the dustbin but for the purpose of the reading public, to understand the true state of some of the issues raised in his ranting.

      First and foremost, the whole issues of the best amongst four options on how to finally end the 2019/2020 NPFL season has not been officially announced by the League Management Company (LMC).

'WHY I LEFT ARSENAL'-MKHITARYAN.


          Henrikh Mkhitaryan has revealed why he left Arsenal for Roma and how Inter icon Youri Djorkaeff ‘drove me to become a football player’.

          Mkhitaryan moved on loan to Roma last summer and confessed he needed a ‘change’ in his career, having failed to truly establish himself at Arsenal.

'I FELT I HAD NO BENCH'-MOURINHO'S REACTION TO MANUNITED MATCH.


         Jose Mourinho felt he had "no bench to react" during Tottenham's 1-1 Premier League draw with Manchester United on Friday.

            Bruno Fernandes' 81st-minute penalty cancelled out Steven Bergwijn's goal as Spurs and United returned to action amid the coronavirus pandemic.

        United were also awarded an even later penalty, but a VAR check reversed the on-field call.

SETIEN DISAGREES WITH PIQUE ON THIS.

          Barcelona coach Quique Setien disagreed with Gerard Pique and believes Real Madrid will drop points late in the LaLiga season.

ARTETA UNSURE IF DAVID LUIZ WILL PLAY AGAIN FOR ARSENAL.

      Mikel Arteta admits David Luiz may not play again for Arsenal, with the club's financial situation set to have an impact on whether the centre-back remains at Emirates Stadium.

The Brazil international endured a rough return to Premier League action on Wednesday following the coronavirus pandemic, despite initially being named on the bench for the clash with Manchester City.

An injury to Pablo Mari led to David Luiz coming on during the first half, which ended with his error allowing Raheem Sterling in for the opening goal. He did not last too much longer after the interval, a foul on Riyad Mahrez leading to a red card.

CHECKOUT THE NEW ITALIAN CUP CHAMPIONS.

        The Italian cup final took center-stage yesterday with Napoli holding the nerve to claim a first major trophy in six seasons by beating Juventus 4-2 in a penalty shootout.
      The match ended in a goalless draw after full ninety minutes plus extra-time of play.Arkadiusz Milik scored the winning spot-kick after Paulo Dybala had seen his first saved,before teammate,Danilo blazed the second over.

       Juventus coach Maurizo Sarri blamed the defeat to lack of sharpnes from his attackers and according to him ,Ronaldo and his other attackers are lacking the fitness required after not playing competitive matches for three months.

'NPFL PLAYERS ARE NOT POOR'-EZENWA.


               Super Eagles and Heartland goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa says the notion that players in the Nigeria Professional Football League are mostly impoverished and live from hand to mouth is erroneous and must be discarded.


         Professional footballers are often associated with lavish wages and stupendously expensive lifestyles but many Nigerians think the exact opposite of domestic players.

INSPIRATIONAL: 'I WAS IN PRISON,NOW I'M TRAINING JADON SANCHO'..


      It's not been an easy road back for Mike 'Boats' Boateng, the twice-jailed former Bristol Rovers defender who now helps keep England's future talent on track.

       Mike served 16 months in prison for an attempted match-fixing fraud in 2013 before receiving a lifetime ban from football.

         Now a qualified personal trainer, his list of clients include Jadon Sancho who stars for Borussia Dortmund in Germany. He also works with twins Ryan and Steven Sessegnon who play for Tottenham and Fulham respectively.

    "I was the scapegoat for match-fixing. It was in the public interest for me to be punished," the 28 year-old admits.

   "I went to an introductory meeting in a cafĂ© and I didn't agree to anything. But things happen for a reason and a positive is now helping others not make the same mistake as me."
