BARCELONA HANDED FITNESS BOOST AS ANSU FATI AND UMTITI RETURNS.

Barcelona's quest to defend their La Liga crown has been bolstered by the news that Ansu Fati and Samuel Umtiti are fit again.

According to Marca, the pair have returned to full training after overcoming injuries.

Umtiti has endured an injury-ravaged 18 months and his problems continued last month when he sustained a calf injury on his return to individual training.

It was the latest blow to the centre back who has been beset by knee and foot problems previously.

The 26-year-old suffered a knee problem in October that kept him out for two weeks and suffered from a foot problem in September which kept him sidelined for a month.

Last season he had two knee injuries which sidelined him for five months.

Fati's injury was considered less serious with the precocious 17-year-old having felt some discomfort in his knee, according to reports.

According to Marca, Barcelona erred on the side of caution with the forward but he is now able to train with the first-team again.

The news will be a welcome double boost to Barcelona manager Quique Setien.

His side sit top of La Liga on 58 points - two points from eternal rivals Real Madrid - after 27 matches.

Barca restart their campaign at relegation-threatened Real Mallorca on June 13.
