Lobi Stars FC have just read an online response purportedly written and signed by Mr Alloy Chukwuemeka on behalf of NPFL Club Owners Association using malicious and unguarded words against Lobi Stars in aftermath of the Club's press release concerning the online voting that was done by the club owners yesterday.
It is quite unfortunate that Alloy will lowly underestimate an official statement from the Government of Benue State. We do hereby respond and state as follows:
1. That Austin Tyowua is not functioning here as a person but as a media officer of Lobi Stars FC in discharge of his lawful and official duties with the backing of the Benue State Government, Board and Management of Lobi Stars FC, as such the press release can not be said to be an ordinary claim.
2. Lobi Stars are not and have never concluded that the online voting of the club owners is an official statement of LMC but only saying the online voting is courting legitimacy of the PPG which is the brain child of the LMC.
3. Lobi Stars FC for now were only responding to the online voting result that was released to the press and signed by Mr Alloy Chukwuemeka on behalf of the The COAN and not from any other leaked source or privileged information from our Executive Vice Chairman Mr Mike Idoko or any other person.
4. We have overtime made our position on the rejection of PPG known. The rejection of the PPG is based on our conviction that it's an imposition that is not serving the best purpose. The reference to France as a success story is false, the clubs in the drop zone have already gotten judgement against the Lique 1 and the leadership decision is still in court by Olympic Lyonnais yet to be determined so Alloy should not mislead the public as the PPG remains unacceptable in France.
5. The reference to 2018 when Lobi Stars were a beneficiary of similar circumstance had no ambiguity in the decision making process. Of note The NPFL is not a national cake that should be equally shared among clubs, for the fact that Lobi Stars were beneficiaries doesn't compel us to endorse a process that is flawed. Besides Lobi Stars are not first on the league table but only ask that the table would have been frozen as it is or open it to choice between the frozen table and the PPG table.
6. It is not the duty of Mr Alloy Chukwuemeka to respond on behalf of Rivers United or Enyimba as both Clubs are independent entities with well constituted management and media departments to have responded, which Emyimba did. His position as NPFL COAN Secretary wouldn't permit him to take side with a member club.
7. On the notice of time of election as quoted by Alloy that we accused the leadership of COAN of short notice of 4pm to 8pm, we ask alloy to go back and reread the press release if any time was quoted therein. Contrastingly the comparison to 2018 does not hold water as the club chairmen were armed with the agenda before they went for the meeting that took the decision Lobi benefitted from.
9. We want to once more make it categorically clear that, Lobi Stars FC responded to the media release of the online voting signed by Mr Alloy Chukwuemeka to the press and not a leaked source. Though Mike Idoko has a duty to report back to his employers but in any case he hadn't at the time of the press release.
10. Lobi Stars have never been against ending the league but member clubs should not be boxed in to accepting an imposed opinion without expression of their right of choice.
11. We therefore demand of Mr Alloy Chukwuemeka to exercise civility and retract his abusive words on Lobi Stars calling a well thought out press release as rubbish and trash from the dust bin and calling The club rats in a bid to defend the interest of another Club.
